1. Destiny
Programmable Current Source SOLLICH 2159 PCM is a precise DC power supply (galvanostat).
The device is designed to work in the field and in laboratory conditions as a regulated and switched source of direct current. In particular, the functions of the device have been adapted to the needs of calculating the resistance of the pipeline section in underground installations.
It is widely used in cathodic protection research, as a portable source of polarization current in tests and research testing the distribution of cathodic protection currents on underground metal structures.
2.Construction
The SOLLICH 2159 PCS is assembled in a carrying case, easy to carry and transport, in which the internal power source (batteries) is built in. The method of assembling the internal elements of the device guarantees the required resistance to shocks, which allows it to be used freely in the conditions of field measurements.
The main element of the device is a stabilized current source – a galvanostat, working with very high accuracy – setting resolution 0.1%.
The galvanostat is powered by internal Li-Ion batteries.
The output current of the galvanostat is programmed manually using the CURRENT multi-turn potentiometer. The current can take values in the entire current range, from 0.0 to I_max (I_max depends on the version of the device).
The device is equipped with a digital AMMETER meter that allows you to measure and read current current values. Additionally, an external test ammeter can be connected to the A-METER terminals to measure the polarization current at the OUTPUT output.
The device has POLARITY SWITCH and CURRENT INTERRUPTION switches that enable manual switching of the current polarity at the OUTPUT terminals, or its momentary switching off.
The device is equipped with a digital meter VOLTMETER that allows you to measure the voltage at the OUTPUT output terminals. The task of the voltmeter is to check whether the device works in the linear range of output voltages.
